RC PRO Caribbean Round 1 West Division

Sunday March the 3rd was the day, in a cool sunny morning racers from all over the country got together under the clear skies of Sierra Prieta in the outsides of the City of Santo Domingo. The stage was set, the track was dry, and the air was hot, it took 1 hour to get the track wet in order to minimize the dust cloud created by the fierce engines of the off road machines that would be run on this day. Qualifiers started and signs of things to come came along with them. In a day filled with surprises and misfortunes, one Driver managed to come out on top not only surprising many but also putting on a heck of a run by winning all classes.

Monster Truck

In the 1st Qualifier top contender Eric Groba showed why he is one of the main drivers in these class and probably the man too beat as he took the 1st round by a full lap from second place. Bu this wasn't to stand as the kid form the town by the beach 9 year old Carlos Sikora, following the instructions of his mechanic and father Richard Sikora took TQ away from Eric By 7 secs. Thus laying out the field for this race. IN the Main we saw a few surprises, as expected the fight between Eric and Carlos was fierce but a Breakdown of Eric's Revo cost him the lead and New Comer Pablo Pou capitalized taking second place, Carlos Sikora led the rest of the race by running a mistake free Race, in an amazing display of poise and skill the 9 year old took the win, new comer Pablo Pou came in second 5 laps down and followed by Eric Groba who miraculously made it to the podium.

Truggy

As expected the usual Kyosho Trio of Team Driver Ortiz, Sikora and Lavigne, blew away the competition in the qualifying taking their ST-RRs to 1,2,3 in the qualifiers. In the main terror struck as Ortiz got away with the early lead only to find himself relinquishing it to Sikora due to front diff problems, Gin Lavigne had transponder problems and had to return to pit leaving Sikora all alone to take the win in another impressive run, second place was taken by Antonio David in a hard fight of Mugen vs. Losi with Ramon Tapia edging him out by only 4 secs.

Buggy

The mood was set and some of the drivers and cars were worn from the previous mains, some drivers made it all the way from C-Main to the A-Main. Top Driver Antonio David Catapulted his Novarossi powered losi to take TQ. And thus the stage was set as the to drivers jumped to the A main as expected it was mainly Losi and kyosho up there with one AE and Hobao in the mist. The Race was hard fought for more than half the race, some of the drivers didn't make it to the start due to technical difficulties, so it left the track with plenty of room to maneuver. But in the end story repeats itself as SIkor took the win by a lap over Ramon Tapia making it a clean sweep for the Wonder kid from the north of the island.

We would like to thank, Nitro Hobbies, COrozo Fuels, La Sorpresa Hobby Shop, Kyosho, CEN, Ciclon, for their support and the whole crew. We cant wait for round 2 which will be held in May in the town By The beach on SIkora's home track. Will the wonder kid hold against his fellow rivals as everyone is gunning for him. But before that him along with the top west drivers will make a stop at Caribbean east round 2 to go up against the best they have in a prelude to the Caribbean finals.

RC PRO Caribbean Round 1 East Division

RC PRO Caribbeand round 1 east division, was held in Barranquitas one of the most beutiful towns, located in the Cordillera Central, the center of the Island. The event was hosted by DROOPY HOBBY SHOP in Barranquitas RC Track a somooth fluid red clay track.Saturday morning squedule was delay by some morning showers but nothing to worried about, The qualifiers ran pretty smothly but with very hard competition mostly in the new develop expert class.

The TQ honors were taken by :
Monster truck , Pedro Rivera
Racing Truck ,Nestor santos
1/8 Int. and Arena Truck Int. ,Jeffrey Ramos
1/8 EXP ,Rafa Sabatier
Arena Truck EXP. Joel Ramos

Monster Truck
TQ Pedro Rivera broke the suspention of his REVO early in the race allowing Alexis Cordero in first place fallow closly by Hector Darys Colon in second and pushing very hard to catch him some were in the first quarter of the race Alexis make a mistake leaving an opening for Hector wich of course he took and never look back leaving Alexis in second and Joselito in third.

Racing Truck
TQ Nestor Santos and Gury Lebron had a great battle for first after second place Edwin Colon broke giving room to Gury work his way up up to second to challenge Nestor for first placewich almost paid off when Gury took the lead mid way thru the race but Nestor fought back and five laps later he regain the lead and keeping it for good, Gury taking second and Pun Gonzalez third.

1/8 Int.
Jeffrey Ramos...the man to beat in the intermidiate class and for sure a top contender in next year expert class make both TQ of the intermidiate class but bad luck was on his side on this race having a ruff start leaving him dead last and Pedro Desakato took the lead until lap 32 that his car broke with Pedro Rivera really close behind taking advantage of the oportunity in a snap taking first, and with a confortable lead over Jeffrey wich had a cople of flame outs during the race getting second and Pedro Desakato struggles but get third!

Arena Truck Int.
Jeffrey Again with the TQ possition but another broken car left him out of the podium with a fourth place, allowing KIKE MILLONES a local rookieto take first place, Gilbert Gonzales in second and Alba Alameda in third

1/8 Exp.
The most interesting of all the races of the day TQ Rafa Sabatier, took the early lead with Ab Pagan hunting him very closely with a couple of possition swaps between them and Miguel Cotto right behind them third waiting for the mistake that give him the edge...and luck was on Miguel side Rafa had an electrical problem leave him out and withouy a chance, and one lap later Ab flame out!!!giving miguel all the room he need it to wrap it up and take the first home, with Carlos Desakato in second and Edwin Colon in third.

Arena Truck Exp.
If 1/8 was the most interesting for sure this one was the most exiting !With the top three drivers in the same lap halve way to the race and a really good battle between Pedro and Rafa, bumper to bumper Pedro with no intention of letting pass Rafa and Joel really close behind them. But Pedro flips giving Rafa the door he was looking for, also Joel took advantage of the oportunity and close the gap enough to challenge for second wich he did and two laps latter he was in second but Rafa capitalize on the oportunity he get making the gap bigger and giving him room to breath cruising to take the win,Joel second and Pedro Third.

We had a great weekend, with exelent and fearsome races i want to take the oportunity to thank DROOPY for the great job putting everithing together for us,all the driver and RC PRO STAFF,also i want to take the oportunity to thanks our sponsors :
